This project was commissioned by the Confluence Project based in Washington state. They are a non-profit that collaborates with Indigenous peoples to reflect the tribal histories along the Columbia river. I was specifically commissioned to create multiple illustrations for their first journal publication, “Voices of the River”. The journal features several stories from Indigenous and Indigenous related descendants. My task was to create images that relate to almost every story featured. The process for creating the images involved the authors of the stories for guidance and feedback. I really enjoyed this project as the stories are amazing and insightful. Journal printed in November 2022.
